JACKSON, Tenn. – The City of Jackson Recreation and Parks Department will host public forums to get community feedback on a grant presentation.
The forums will be held on April 11th from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. and again on April 13th from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the George A Smith Meeting Room inside Jackson City Hall located at 101 E. Main St., Jackson, TN 38301.
A presentation of the departments' Local Recreation and Parks Fund Grant proposal will be given and residents of Jackson are encouraged to attend to hear the exciting upcoming projects within the department, as well as to provide feedback on the future plans.
The projects that will be presented include a restroom facility at Stella Duncan Park; resurfacing of the walking trail at Shirlene Mercer Park; the installation of a parking lot and walking path at Wallace Road Park; the installation of a state-of-the-art skate park at the Jackson Tennis Complex; and a new park to be built on Windy City Road.
"TDEC has provided an excellent funding opportunity for municipalities to invest into their recreation and park systems and our department is taking advantage of this opportunity,” said JRPD Park Operations Manager Christi David. “I look forward to presenting to the community and receiving their feedback.”
Those in attendance are encouraged to take part in the survey following the presentation.
