JACKSON, Tenn. – City of Jackson, TN Public Works will be removing storm debris beginning Monday, April 18, 2022. Crews will begin the process in the Hollywood/Iris area and Skyline/Edenwood area.
Some streets may require closing to thru-traffic during work hours while heavy equipment is being operated.
Vegetative storm debris (e.g. tree limbs, branches) will be collected separately from bulk waste curbside collection. Claw trucks will remain on regular residential routes.
Storm Debris Removal Guidelines
To facilitate curbside service following the recent storm event, the City of Jackson asks residential customers to adhere to the following guidelines:
- All contractors are required to remove limbs they cut or remove. City ordinance requires contractors/tree trimmers to remove debris generated from their work.
- Keep all tree limbs and branches separate from non-vegetative debris.
- Keep storm debris clear of fire hydrants and/or mailboxes.
- Move all storm debris to the curb or right-of-way, but not in the street. City equipment will not leave the street or operate on private property.
- The landfill, located at 550 Aaron Long Rd., remains available as a drop-off location if residents want to haul off their own debris.
