Jackson, TN City Council votes in favor to approve new City Recorder

The Jackson, TN City Council on today voted 6-1-1 in favor the approval of Mayor Scott Conger’s recommendation of Nathan Reed as the new City Recorder.

Reed, a native of Dyer, TN, attended Rhodes College, served as City Recorder for the City of Dyer for over a decade, where her managed city finances ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations among other duties. Redd also served as a member of the Gibson County Government Tourism Committee and is a past Gibson County Commissioner and former City Councilmember / Alderman for Dyer.

While living in Memphis attending Rhodes College, Reed recognized the beauty in a multi-cultural city where he became employed with the Center for Southern Folklore and The Orpheum Theatre.

"I'm incredibly pleased to be joining the finance and accounting team at the City of Jackson, and to be part of this amazing community,” said Reed. “I'm grateful to Mayor Conger and the City Council for the opportunity to serve the residents of the City of Jackson."

Reed’s other interest include hiking, kayaking, day tripping, and reading fiction & non-fiction.

The City Recorder’s Office is the repository of official documents. Ordinances, resolutions, minutes of the meetings, deeds, contracts, agreements, maps and other information are available for viewing upon request. Most documents are available or being prepared to be available through the City's website.
