
JACKSON, Tenn. – Invitations to apply were sent to all area high schools including public, private and homeschool. The following students were selected to serve:

- Shayla Nguyen, Hannah Lutz (South Side High School)
- Neela Kay Wilson (Trinity Christian Academy)
- Sam Hines, Emi Hammond, Diya Patel, Caroline Brandt, Josie Carney (University School of Jackson)
- Quimya Robinson, Katie Peachey, Jesse Haynes (JCM Early College High)
Mayor’s Youth Council Class of 2027 will be sworn in on Tuesday, September 3, 2025 during the regularly scheduled Jackson City Council Meeting.
During their council term, students will learn about city policies and get a behind-the-scenes look at how local government operates. They will also participate in current initiatives and have the opportunity to develop individual leadership skills.
“I am delighted to welcome the Class of 2027 to the Mayor’s Youth Council,” said Mayor Scott Conger. “I look forward to collaborating with both current and new members of the council. Their input is essential in ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.”
This is our seventh class for the Mayor’s Youth Council. Students will meet once a month until their graduation.
