City of Jackson, TN invites community to help decorate city Christmas Tree

Jackson, Tenn. – The City of Jackson, TN is inviting members of the community to help decorate the city Christmas Tree that will stand outside of Jackson City Hall. The community is to thank our frontline and essential workers for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic. The event coincides with the “Christmas Love for Frontline and Essential Workers,” parade theme.

We are asking that all ornaments be light-weight (ornaments will be hanging from the tree), non-breakable, and no larger than 8 inches in circumference or 8x11. Ornaments must also be weather resistant. Please attach a durable hanging wire to the top of the ornament so that we can secure it to the tree.

You can deliver your decorated ornament to the front lobby of City Hall located at 101 E. Main St. between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday before November 25, 2020. A Christmas box will be located in the lobby for collecting unique ornaments.

“We want our community to visit Downtown Jackson during the holiday season,” said Gayle Gilbert, Community Relations Liaison. “Downtown will have dazzling light displays, decorated store windows, and the Santa Claus house in addition to the tree outside city hall.”

The City reserves the right to deny inappropriate ornaments and will not be held liable for any ornament submitted for placement on the tree. All ornaments will be removed after Christmas and stored in City Hall until January 11, 2021. Ornaments that are not reclaimed by this date become the property of the City of Jackson, TN.
