JACKSON, Tenn. – The City of Jackson's Recreation and Parks Department Jackson Idol talent competition was held at the Carl Perkins Civic Center, Thursday, July 21, 2022. The talent show featured summer camp performers from all over Jackson-Madison County.
Winners:
2022 Jackson Idol Winners for 6-8 Age Division: Terry Franklin, Paris Springfield, Journi Malone, and Londyn Copeland representing T.R White Sportsplex. Their winning performance was a dance mix.
2022 Jackson Idol Winner for 9-12 Age Division: Laron Bouye representing Boys & Girls Club of Jackson. His winning performance was a musical performance of "Uptown Funk" on the saxophone!
“The youth in our city are incredibly talented and all of the participants did fantastic job in showcasing it,” said JRPD Community Engagement Director. “We also want to thank our judges who spent the morning with us and had a very difficult job.”
The judges included Marsha Sanderson, Undrae Johnson, Kyle Spurgeon, Lisa Peoples; Harriet Croom served as the tabulator; Gertrude Copeland and Miss Tennessee Teen Volunteer Annie Zhao served as Mistresses of Ceremonies.
Jackson Idol winners will participate in events across the city throughout the year.
