JACKSON, Tenn. – The City of Jackson, TN’s Health and Sanitation Department will the hold its fifth Community Clean-up Day (Mattress, Tire, and Furniture Disposal event) on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Muse Park by organizing a bulk waste drop-off event to help residents dispose of large items that are difficult to get rid of.
The event will allow citizens to drop off items such as tires, mattresses, furniture, and bulk items over 50 pounds.
“This initiative aims to promote a cleaner and healthier community by reducing illegal dumping and encouraging responsible waste disposal practices,” said City of Jackson, TN Recycling Coordinator Robin Chance. “By offering a convenient and free way to get rid of bulky waste, the City of Jackson, TN hopes to encourage more people to participate in keeping their neighborhoods clean and safe.”
Event Guidelines:
- Event is free for city of Jackson Residents
- No Commercial Businesses
- 4 Tires per vehicle
- Furniture (including recliners, couches will be accepted)
- No appliances with Freon or Refrigerant
- No Hazardous Waste
The Tennessee Department of Transportation and the Health and Sanitation Department are providing tarps to the first 75 people in trucks or trailers to attend.
