JACKSON, Tenn. – City of Jackson, TN Health and Sanitation Department will hold a community clean-up day event to help curb illegal dumping in our city. Residents will be able to drop off tires, furniture and mattress/box springs during this event.
“We often see these hard-to-dispose-of items illegally dumped in our city and we are happy to provide the resources and means for our citizens to properly dispose of them,” said City of Jackson, TN Recycling Coordinator Robin Chance. “This is one of many events we look forward to providing for the community in the coming months.”
This free event for City of Jackson, TN residents will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm at two locations:
South Jackson: Jackson Fairgrounds Park, 800 South Highland Ave. (parking lot south of the Jackson Fire Department Training Center)
North Jackson: Muse Park, 1380 North Parkway (parking lot at north entrance of North Parkway)
“I’m excited for this event for our city and residents,” said Mayor Scott Conger. “We’re always looking for ways to help stop illegal dumping and I’m thankful for the work Robin has been doing since joining our city’s team as Recycling Coordinator.”
Event Guidelines:
- Event is free for city of Jackson Residents
- No Commercial Businesses
- 4 Tires per vehicle
- Furniture (including recliners, couches will be accepted)
- No appliances
