Jackson Recreation and Parks Department’s Park Operations Manager becomes Nationally Certified Playground Safety Inspector
JACKSON, Tenn. – The City of Jackson, TN Recreation and Parks Department’s Park Operations Manager Christi David has become a Nationally Certified Playground Safety Inspector through the National Recreation and Parks Association.
“This is another win for our city,” said Mayor Scott Conger. “With Christi’s national certification to be a safety inspector for our playgrounds, we are continuing to move in the right direction for the future and growth of our city.”
Christi will be responsible for inspecting and ensuring that our city’s multiple playgrounds are in compliance with the standards set by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
“Christi has made great strides within our Recreation and Parks Department,” said JRPD Director Tony Black. “This certification is just another step for our parks being safe for our citizens.”
Christi attended the two-day course in February with exam content areas including Hazard Identification, Surfacing, Playground Environment, Audit, Inspection & Maintenance, and Risk Management.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as our city’s new playground safety inspector,” said JRPD Park Operations Manager Christi David. “We want to develop a comprehensive plan to become proactive in addressing issues in our parks and playgrounds.”
