City of Jackson, TN Street Department to hold demo of its new pothole repair machine
Jackson, Tenn. – The City of Jackson, TN Street Department will demonstrate how its new pothole repair machine will be used on city streets, Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020.
“The new pothole repair machine is very beneficial,” City of Jackson, TN Street Department Superintendent Johnny Weddle said. “It saves a lot of time and the results of the repair are better quality than temporary pothole patches.”
On Wednesday, September 30, employees with Jackson Energy Authority helped train street department and city garage employees on how to use and maintain the new machine. The machine takes about 20 minutes to heat existing asphalt at about 325 degrees. Workers then use the existing asphalt to spread and repair the heated section which is later pressed and sealed with an asphalt roller.
