JACKSON, Tenn. – The City of Jackson hears today a presentation on the investigation of the financial relationship with the City and the ballclub. This investigation was done by Alan Crone, Esq., and Catherine Walsh, Esq., of The Crone Law Firm in conjunction with Cindy MacAulay, Director, of Dixon Hughes Goodman. This investigation was brought to The City Council at June, 2020 Meeting, and was approved.
Among those items reported were potential overpayments by the City, lack of appropriate oversight, and trade agreements.
“When you operate with taxpayer money, you have an even higher bar for transparency. The Mayor and Council should be commended for their transparency in this process.” Assistant to Mayor Scott Conger, Alex Reed, said. “We have learned a lot through this process not only with Mr. Crone, but also through the Comptroller’s report. We have come a long way in our processes and procedures, and we still have work to do.” Reed continued.
